Lumalicious!

Mr McFaul went over to Hong Kong / China a few weeks back to see Luma. He took these shots of the shop thats just opened up over there, they used the repeat pattern I designed when I was working with McFaul Studio for the strore front, but instead of just using a wrap, they reconstructed the whole pattern in mosaic !! It looks amazing, real quality, real beautiful ! Johns got some exciting things planned ref Luma and Im chuffed to be involved with him and them to help make them things happen – watch this space!

Greece

I was lucky enough to go on holiday, 2 weeks on the beautiful island Sifnos, a much needed break, the last break in a while seeing Im to become a dad in November, its all about color in Greece, the sea is so SO blue, crystal, you just want to dive in to it all of the time, we spent a couple of nights in Athens to, its a hot and crazy place, amazing street art scene there, I drive my wife up the wall in general when we are on city breaks stopping every few paces to take photos. A few little snippets…

Adventures In Animation

The new Computer Arts Projects is out, I did a DPS for the ‘Adventures In Animation’ article, I’m pretty pleased with it, was a real tight turnaround, but sometimes the pressure brings out the best in you.  I also had the honour of collaborating with over 30 different artists for the epic front cover, mines called Rabid Rabit, he’s the one running away from Mega Munden’s Mega-Octo! Go grab yourself a copy, great issue as ever.

KIA / E3 update..

Heres the digital  illustrations I talked about in a earlier post I did for E3 for the KIA Special Editions vroooommmm…

Vintage TV website

The new Vintage TV website, well, coming soon page, but its a damn nice one, is up ! With help from Mr McFaul and the tech skills of Dropp I designed the page, its all part of the ongoing branding I’m doing for John/Vintage, and talking of the branding I’m currently working up the guidelines, Im not sure what year it is at the moment ! ….it will be up for 62 days / 12 hours and 41 minu…..no 40 minutes.

CAP Sneaky

Again would love to show you – soon my friends soon! Computer Arts Projects asked me to illustrate a DPS for a future edition, was real happy with the result considering the tight turnaround, bold, colourful and a bit sosaturdays.

KIA / E3 Media

Had the pleasure of working for E3 last week on some real fun stuff for KIA, cant show you anything at the mo – but its candy for the eyes ! There a great bunch to work with and you should check out there work – lush studio space to !

Sneaky peek…

…at something for someone and something. Nuff.

AnyForty vs…

I had a top holiday, but was still gutted to of missed Mr Wardle’s AnyForty versus show at Start The Bus gallery in Bristol last weekend. Some top talent included in the show ( Mega Munden / Matt Taylor / Another Example / 123 Klan to namedrop a few ) I was really chuffed to of been part of it, heres my print, its a bit of the wall but that was the idea.

I heard it was a real success and lots of peeps turned up for the show, and it was all for a great cause to as all the cash went to the Knowle West Media centre – well done Al!!

Luma Pattern

This was great fun. Its a repeat pattern I created while at McFaul for Luma, its Esher ran through the halftone mill with some urban attitude thrown into the mix. I’m really happy with it, the pattern is all topsy turvy, one half is up the other down, makes my head hurt just thinking about it – god knows how I managed to draw it without feeling sea sick!

If you look at the photo on the left you can see a snippet of it used for Lumas backdrop at a bike show in Hong Kong – and bizarrely the gentleman posing in the photo is Sammo Hung – one of Hong Kong’s greatest actors! The pattern I hear is going to be used on a fixie bike !! Awesome.
