Heres a little snippet of my contribution for Mr Wardle’s AnyForty show in July. Think….80’s Saturday morning cartoon hour, a sprinkle of LSD on your cornflakes, while listening to Fugazi on 11 and your pretty close.

Again sorry can not say anything about this, but it does involve these loveable two – Im in at Aardman the next couple months for a AMAZING project. Its such a fantastic place to work, the people are mint, the attitude and focus is spot on and they do some amazing beautiful work – and the canteen is pretty damn good to! All in all perfick.
Only allowed to show one of the few different pics I have submitted for a pitch for a big and cool fashion house – cant say much more than that Im sorry, I know they like it, but as you all know in this game its not a cert till the contracts all written up and the monies are in the bank – we shall see. Fingers crossed.
But what is nice is this style, I suppose its becoming my signature B/W digital illustration style, is turning the right heads at the mo, this is the second time within the past month I have been asked to create work like this – I love it and really lose myself in it – more please!
The Talented Mr Bagshaw has a show on at the Knifesmith Gallery here in Brizzle, I am defo gonna pop along to see this, he’s work is amazing and I have been a big fan for a while – get yourself down there you wont be disappointed http://www.mostlywanted.com/
We all know, well those who know him, and if you don’t, where you been, that Mr McFaul my ex-boss likes he’s bikes, so much so he’s a tad loopy and for fun likes to enter crazy tournaments and just do the odd 100 miles now and then on a Sunday arvo – madness. But he’s dead good at it so its understandable, so much so he’s going to be doing some races very soon, and one of my last jobs I worked on for McFaul Studios was Johnbob’s kit – here it is – the first draft – take a look here because all you will see of it on the road is a streak of red. black and white.
Brighton Freak Show – what a turn out ! Who can blame the 450 odd peeps who turned up to the opening night, 200% effort put in by Brighton’s star illustrators and artists. A big shout out tho to my friend Ollie Munden – what a top job he did, as well as putting me up for the night in his swanky pad and treating me to a Grubbs burger in the early hours of the drunken morning he created something quite spesh, with lots of curating help form his partner in crime Johnny McCulloc they turned this old church hall into a glorious Freak Show.
The show was amazing tho and you should get over there yourself and check out the top notch artwork these boys and girls have pulled out the bag, check the site out here for some piccys of there past work.
Well done all XXX
He has already took the tee street wear scene by storm, so Al Wardle AKA AnyForty has decided to celebrate and do some good in the process by organising and generally doing what he does best and getting together the cream of talent out there ( ahem ) for a show this summer, all the proceeds go to a local kids charity, and from the names involved already its set to be a blinder – watch this space!
I have been doing some work with them talented Dropp lads lately, this is one of the projects we have been working on together, Im more than just illustration and pretty graphics, like the tagline boasts I’m everything and anything, I like to get knees deep in corporate jobs to, give the royal blue a contemporary cool edge, I love that challenge, Strauss is a great example of this, like evereything it started with a mood board, I wanted to make them more vibrant and organic, a look and feel that reflects the product, using organic forms as frames and borders, a clean looking font, and some slick information graphics and icons we achieved this and the client loves it – a win win situation! Check out the beta here.
You have to of been living on another plant to have not realised there is a election going on. Dropp were asked to design and build a game to celebrate this fact by ITV1 News. I was drafted in to design the games look and feel, we all kinda knew the direction we wanted to take it from the off, a Terry Gillingham Monty Python / Jib-Jab vibe, big heads and little bods, cut out mouths and almost puppet like in movement. The rest of the design has a polling office feel to it, old school MDF desks and grainy polling cards, stained tea rings, the little yellow pencil and off course the ballot box – all very British! The graphics tho are nout compared to the work the Dropp guys put in, the back end, which is way over my head, is amazing and they built this from scratch – a very very seriously talented team, take note.
The game was a amazing success, thousands and thousands of peeps played the game which helped them decide which party suited them – play it here, I know its all over now but its still a load of fun!
One of the last jobs I worked on at McFaul Studios was creating the brand and look / artwork for Vintage TV, I’ll be carrying on with this for John who’s looking after the creative for them. This was a real fun project to work on, at times hard, all that sourcing imagery and cutting out got a bit tedious somedays but I was really pleased with the results, the website and indents are not far off being finished, its great to see a idea being carried across all mediums and not lose any of its charm.
